  • Senior Software Engineer, C#, ASP.NET, .Net Framework - Developing an innovative tax application for multinational companies to perform tax management and other management accounting functions. Running in intranet/extranet environment. Delivered prototypes on several sub-systems and implemented a key sub-system on time and to specification.

  • Analyst, and IIS, SQL2000 developer - Implemented a solution to convert 10 Notes based applications to a web environment running on IIS and SQL 2000, provided a rich environment for displaying, editing, searching company manuals, including rich client side editing of content, images and attachments.

  • Team leader, analyst and Domino developer - Implemented infrastructure, processes and documentation to enable the development of high quality Lotus Notes applications in a professional software development company, delivered numerous projects using infrastructure and processes. Responsible for developing a junior Notes developer into a full-fledged developer.

  • Project leader, analyst and Domino developer - Delivered a credit card expense claim system, handling approval of over AU$1 Million of claims by 200 office staff and 200 field staff per month located across Australia. Estimated to reduced approval times from over 60 to fewer than 40 days, save 1-1½ administrative headcount, improve information availability and reduced costs.

  • Project leader, analyst and Domino developer - Delivered an Intranet solution to provide central location for requesting services, designed to streamline requests and enhance visibility of process. Used by over 600 employees across 8 offices in the UK and 6 worldwide. Reduced costs of administration, provided central location for requests and improved communication between service providers and customers.

  • Project Manager and customer liaison, Domino.doc solution - Delivered Domino.doc application to control important procedural documentation for pharmaceutical medical department. Designed and built for solutions delivery group for eventual deployment across Europe. Improved audit compliance, reduced time to review and approve new documents, ensured documents were effective at all times.

  • Team leader, analyst and Domino developer - Delivered numerous high quality knowledge management applications using Lotus Notes technologies to around 500 users located across Australia, delivering improvements in storing, browsing and locating information.

  • Access and Office Developer - Delivered system to log civil engineering project details, this system was used to produce portfolios for potential clients and deliver reports to the World Bank for aggregation into central database of worldwide civil engineering projects. Saved over 15 person days per year in administration and improved consistency and accuracy of data.

  • Project Manager and analyst - Developed proposals for improvements to Domino infrastructure including reduction in obsolete systems, improved security, clustering, availability and reliability.

  • Project Manager, and analyst - Developed proposals for an integrated knowledge management platform encompassing over 50 separate Notes databases and numerous web sites to provide a single location for browsing and searching knowledge resources.

  • Retail Technical Support and Technical Support Team Leader - Worked in a retail technical support role, providing repairs, upgrades and advice to customers and in-store equipment. Later promoted to team leader in charge of the department supervising up to 4 technical support staff. Helped raise department income by over 50% within 3 months whilst still maintaining existing unpaid support standards.

  • Project leader, and Office developer - Delivered updated letter creation software that produces letters for doctors and patients giving information on pharmaceutical products. Reduced IT maintenance headcount from ¾ to a negligible amount and improved uptime and reliability of system, resulted in improved productivity for business users.

  • Project leader, analyst and Domino developer - Delivered Audit finding tracking system, to log findings, notify affected staff, track and ensure compliance. Provided management with metrics on compliance and improvements in standards. Reduced administration from ½ headcount to a negligible administration cost.  This project was so successful in the UK it was rolled out to all European affiliates with only ½ day of set-up and training required.

Career Objectives

While I have a strong technical background in Lotus Notes I wish to develop these skills into building large-scale web applications utilising cutting edge technologies that extend from Domino into other technologies. In the medium to long term I would like to develop my project management and system architect skills to deliver the technology aspect of large projects in partnership with business. Eventually I would like to manage a skilled software development team that provides a full range of software development skills across a wide range of technologies to deliver applications that are relevant and practical to business.

When not working, I enjoy a range of activities. Snowboarding is a major passion of mine that I like to fulfil when the season allows. I also enjoy with motor racing and attend events whenever possible. As well as sports I enjoy socialising with friends, going to clubs, concerts, and cinema. Perhaps my greatest pleasure is travelling and exploring other cultures
